about
DR. MIRRAS
Dr. Mirras was born and raised in Lowell graduating from Lowell High School in 1974. After working several years in the medical field she found herself gravitating toward Dentistry. Initially a Dental Assistant, in 1982 she decided to return back to school to obtain her Degree in Dental Hygiene. The experiences that followed in both private practice and hospital dentistry had Dr. Mirras choosing, once again, to further her education.
In 1989 she was accepted into Boston University School of Dental Medicine and in 1993 she obtained her DMD degree, with honors, finding her passion for Endodontics.
She was accepted to a 2 year Post Doctoral Residency Specializing in Endodontics at Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry, under the tutelage of Dr. Herbert Schilder.
Dr. Schilder, a world renown Endodontist, is known for pioneering what became known as the "Schilder Technique". A technique revolutionizing root canal treatment. This is now considered one of the highest clinical standards for root canal treatment worldwide.
During her residency, Dr. Mirras was honored to have been chosen by Dr. Schilder to work beside him teaching hands-on Continuing Education Courses.
These unique courses allowed Dentists, who came from across the globe, to observe and learn the "Schilder Technique" first hand.
Dr. Mirras got the rare opportunity of being his chair side assistant.
Having successfully completed her residency in 1995 she returned home and in 1997 opened her private practice in Chelmsford. Dr. Mirras treats her patients with a gentle care and understanding that has become her hallmark. She continues practicing the technique taught to her by one of the worlds finest.
Dr Mirras resides in Chelmsford and in her spare time she enjoys interior design, entertaining family and friends, gardening and the ever present company of her rescue 'puppy'.
She still makes time to teach the "Schilder Techique" in hands-on Continuing Education Courses.
